It would be great if everything you created worked perfectly the first time around. However, there are often many moving parts in automations, and errors do happen.
The important thing is that Automation Studio can tell you what went wrong so you can get everything back on track.
Here’s how:
Access Activities: In Automation Studio, click the Activities tab. Here, Automation Studio categorizes your activities, making it easier to find the specific one you want to review.
Review Errors: If you encounter an error, click the activity to review detailed information about the error. You can find this information in the Detail column of the Action Log tab.

Here is a list of potential error messages and resolutions to help you troubleshoot.
These errors are grouped into categories like:
SQL Query Activity Errors: Primarily related to data problems from query activities.

Import Activity Errors: Focused on missing or incorrectly located files.
⚙️ Automation Studio Best Practices
Timing is crucial when working with Automation Studio. Make sure to:
Allow sufficient time for activities to complete before moving on.
Handle query activities with care, especially if they are resource-intensive.
Optimize queries if they consistently take longer than 30 minutes to run.
Here are some optimization tips:
1️⃣ Rewrite queries using primary key values.
2️⃣ Specify fields instead of using SELECT *.
3️⃣ Limit column size and use appropriate data types.
